Life is wild. Getting married. Becoming a dad. Having a cancer scare. Starting a business. Hiring employees. Downsizing. Closing the business. Starting two new ones. Pivot, pivot, pivot.

You can’t get too comfortable these days. I haven’t been comfy for years, but I’m still on an amazing journey.

My name is Michael Fritzius, but everybody calls me Fritz. You can too. I’ve been deeply enjoying the life that comes from making our dreams a reality, through building small businesses that serve our family.

In 2015 I opened a tech company called Arch DevOps which was originally focused on software test automation. I’d create small frameworks that made it easier for non-developers to write software that actually tests a company’s product.

In 2020 the company had gotten so spread out service-wise that it was hard for people to know what to come to us about. And then the pandemic happened.

In early 2022 it was finally time to shut down that company, but in 2021 my wife and I started Exactly Zero as a result of my cancer scare nearly 10 years prior. We’ve been making out own clean living products for that decade–crafting soaps, sunscreen, bug spray,

lip balm, laundry soap and anything else we’d use in our household–and

enough people pestered us about starting a business that we finally did

Then in late 2021, I started up podcastify.me, to help bring podcasting to coaches that are ready to take their business to the next level. Podcasting was a service that was stapled onto Arch DevOps not long before it shut down. Extracting that service and developing a business around it is really working out well.

Life is definitely not comfortable. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I share stories about our journey, what it’s like to run businesses and have more freedom, and dig into the philosophy and mindset about what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
